Education Everett Intern Job Description
Reports to: Education Director/Education Staff
Objective: To support the Education Department by assisting with program projects and office duties.
Responsibilities:
Assist education department staff with various short and long-term projects
Review books for the GLSEN on-line Booklink
Prepare training materials for the Training of Trainers program
Assist with the development and creation of new education resources and lessons specifically for K-12 educators
Manage and administer the GLSEN Educator Network listserv
Assist with fulfillment of GLSEN product orders
Copyedit departmental publications and materials for grammar, punctuation, and style
Perform administrative tasks, such as, photocopying, filing, and responding to telephone and email inquiries
Perform any other duties related to Education Department or as GLSEN’s representative
Required Skills:
Interested applicants should be committed to GLSEN’s mission to make schools safer all students regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression
Have an interest in social justice issues and education advocacy
Be organized, detailed oriented, able to take direction
Have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a strong background in writing
Must have basic computer skills, including the ability to manage and administer departmental listserv

The Education Department of GLSEN is responsible for the creation of curricula and other resource materials as well as the training of educators and administrators.
The Education Everett Intern position reports to the Education Director and Education Staff, supporting the department by assisting with program projects and office duties. This includes: the review of books for the GLSEN online BookLink, preparing training materials for the Training of Trainers program, copyediting of departmental publications and materials and other administrative duties as assigned. We are interested in applicants who are dedicated to the mission of GLSEN, have a demonstrated interest in social justice and education advocacy issues, and applicants who have strong analytical skills and writing talents.
