I Just Want to Say (Video)

GLSEN
Sep 01, 1997

What is the climate like in your school? How many times a day do students hear the words "faggot" and "dyke"? What can teachers do to make sure that their classrooms are places where every student feels safe and has the opportunity to learn to the best of their ability, free from these damaging homophobic comments.

Tennis champion Martina Navratilova hosts a candid and moving discussion of the anti-LGBT climate faced by youth in our schools, and offers suggestions for how educators can work to teach respect for all. The video also contains trailers of GLSEN's two Public Service Announcements with Judy Shepard.

Running time: 15 minutes.
