Open Minds to Equality is an educator’s sourcebook of activities for helping students understand and change inequalities based on race, gender, class, age, language, sexual orientation, physical/mental ability and religion.

The first two chapters help educators examine various forms of discrimination and their connections, and explore the potential for equitable classrooms and schools. The remaining chapters provide learning activities, some focusing specifically on educating young people about heterosexism and homophobia, with useful worksheets to use with students.

Geared for grades 4-8, and adaptable for high school, Open Minds to Equality is also useful for youth organizations and professional development for teachers. This 397-page third edition is teacher-friendly in both format and price, and will open teachers’ and students’ eyes, hearts and minds to equality.
