Catherine Tanelli
Senior Vice President
GTS Re-Engineering
Citi

Catherine Tanelli is a senior project manager in Global Transaction Services (GTS) Re-Engineering in Citigroup’s corporate investment bank. In this new role, Cathy works with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives to improve effectiveness, increase revenue and/or reduce costs.

Catherine Tanelli joined Citi in September 2006 as a Senior Vice President in GTS Client Delivery. As a senior project manager in SFS Client Services, Cathy’s primary focus was on global best practices for an organization with staff in Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Milan, Luxembourg, Columbus, Portland, Tampa and Toronto. In this role, Cathy liaised with cross-functional partners and served as a central point of intra-departmental communication and project management.

Immediately prior to joining Citi, Cathy had an unplanned five-year career break when her partner accepted an overseas work assignment and she became a “trailing spouse”. (This event is what led her partner’s company – International Paper – to offer domestic partner benefits to its global workforce, the first in its sector to do so.) Prior to living overseas, Cathy had a successful 16-year career in financial services, with numerous marketing and management positions with UnumProvident, an executive consulting stint with IBM in their Banking, Finance, Securities and Insurance practice, and finally as a chief-of-staff to a senior executive at MetLife.

Cathy came to Citi via the company’s sponsorship of the Dartmouth Tuck Business School “Back in Business” program. She earned her MBA in the Executive Program at Vanderbilt University Owen School of Business and after studying at Drew University, earned her BA from Southern Methodist University.

Cathy serves as Co-Chair of Citi Pride – New York. She is also active in The Women’s Council at Citi, coordinating Mentors for the Developing Talent Program. Externally, Cathy serves on the National Board of Directors for GLSEN. She and her partner of eleven years, Rochelle Weitzner, live in Westchester County, NY with their 3 ˝ -year-old Maltese, Coco.
