GLSEN Supporter Profile: DiversityInc

GLSEN has had the pleasure of having Barbara Frankel on our Board of Directors for the past two years. Barbara currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Executive Editor for DiversityInc. Barbara has been one of our most vocal champions for school safety issues in corporate America. She never misses an opportunity to talk about the importance of GLSEN and the work we do when she is standing in front of the some of the most influential decision-makers in business.

In fact, recently at the unveiling of DiversityInc's 2010 Top 50 Companies for Diversity® list, she was asked to say a few words about her affiliation with GLSEN. Among other things, she declared, "GLSEN is one of the finest organizations in America, and more companies should be supporting the life-changing work of making schools safer for all students."

DiversityInc is the leading publication on diversity and business. DiversityInc's CEO and owner, Luke Visconti, co-founded the company in 1998 as a web-based publication, and started the print magazine in 2002. DiversityInc recently launched the website DiversityIncBestPractices.com, which is a place for the latest research, analysis, metrics, trends, best practices and real-life solutions on diversity management. And DiversityInc understands the connection between strong diversity and inclusive practices within corporate philanthropy.

As DiversityInc rolls out its annual 2010 top-rated corporations in different diversity segments, we are honored to have an exclusive look at the 2010 DiversityInc Top 10 Companies for LGBT Employees. To determine this list, DiversityInc used several factors: answers to questions on the DiversityInc Top 50 survey about LGBT recruiting, LGBT ERGs and benefits, a perfect Human Rights Campaign (HRC) 100% rating, evaluation of corporations' websites for demonstrable commitment to LGBT people and concerns, as well as speaking to leading LGBT organizations (including GLSEN, of course) about these companies.
