GLSEN's Safe Schools Advocacy Summit (SSAS) - March 27-29, 2011 - Washington DC.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
Interested in coming to our nation's capital to learn more about advocating for safe schools? Meeting amazing people and making lifelong friends? Telling your congressperson and senators why ALL students deserve to be safe in school?
Costs for SSAS (travel, lodging, and meals) will be covered by GLSEN. Participants will be responsible for any incidental costs. Participants will travel on the morning of Sunday, March 27th and the afternoon of Tuesday the 29th. Depending on location, some participants may be asked to travel on Saturday, March 26th. Adult participants will be lodged in double rooms, and students in triples (each participant will have their own bed). All students/underage youth will be supervised by GLSEN staff throughout the event. Participants for SSAS will be selected based on a number of criteria. One of the primary factors is an applicant's location compared to key Congressional Districts and states. Due to the nature of the event applications will be considered on an individual basis. While some participants may be selected from the same location, we are unable to accommodate or accept applications for groups. The information you provide is used for the SSAS application process only, and will be kept private by GLSEN. Participants selected for SSAS will be notified by the end of February. For further information or any questions regarding the application process, contact Eric Masten at emasten@glsen.org or 202-621-5815. |
