The Weiland Society: A Legacy for the FutureWhen Ric Weiland, a former GLSEN Board member died in 2006, he left a legacy by remembering GLSEN in his estate plans with a gift that was our largest ever. We will be forever grateful for his commitment to our mission. And, in recognition of this, GLSEN named its legacy program -The Weiland Society, A Legacy for the Future - to honor his generosity. We affectionately refer to this group of exceptional GLSEN supporters as Ric's Club.
Ric's life was centered around the people and organizations he cared about. He had a loving partner, Mike Schaefer, and a close circle of good friends. Ric was also very involved with many organizations whose work he cared about passionately and quietly supported. Ric will surely be remembered and has left a legacy that will effect generations to come. He knew that much of the important work being done today Everyone has the capacity to join The Weiland Society by including GLSEN in their estate planning. Whether your means are modest or exceptional, GLSEN would be thrilled to have you as a part of Ric's club, a group of exceptional individuals ensuring GLSEN's future.
