Days of Action + No Name-Calling Week

GLSEN's four annual Days of Action, together with No Name-Calling Week, are regular occasions during the school year when students, educators and allies can bring attention to the pervasive problem of anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) bullying and harassment in schools.

Days of Action - These are annual student-led activities that create greater awareness about anti-LGBT bias in our nation's schools and promote coalition building for social justice.

October - Ally Week A national youth-led effort empowering students to be allies against anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) bullying, harassment and name-calling in K-12 schools.

April - Day of Silence Founded in 1996, the Day of Silence has become the largest single student-led action towards creating safer schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

No Name-Calling Week

No Name-Calling Week was created by GLSEN and Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing and is supported by over 40 national partner organizations.

January - No Name-Calling Week The project's mission is to focus national attention on the problem of name-calling in schools, and to provide students and educators with the tools and inspiration to launch an on-going dialogue about ways to eliminate name-calling in their communities.
