Video: National Safe School Partnership Briefing, Washington D.C.

GLSEN is a proud member of the National Safe Schools Partnership, representing nearly 30 national education, health, civil rights, law enforcement, youth development and other organizations working to promote school safety and improve student achievement.

The National Safe Schools Partnership released a Congressional Brief on June 28, "Bridging the Gap in Federal Law: Preventing Bullying and Harassment in Our Schools," at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington D.C.

U.S. Rep. Linda Sanchez of California also attended the briefing to announce her intention to introduce the Safe Schools Improvement Act, which will help ensure safe schools for all students.

GLSEN Founder and Executive Director Kevin Jennings, a former high school history teacher, explains that students will live up to the expectations we set for them.

Jennings discusses the need for a clear, consistent and comprehensive policy that says bullying and harassment is not acceptable.
