GLSEN Massachusetts Professional Development (PD) Training is based on more than 20 years of experience working to make schools safer, healthier and more respectful for all students, GLSEN has developed effective training tools that empower K-12 educators to ensure that all youth have access to meaningful educational experiences, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. Focused on increasing the number of adult allies in our nation’s schools and rooted in research-based training methods and adult learning principles, GLSEN PD workshops are integral to comprehensive approaches to ensuring safe and inclusive schools.
All K-12 educators can benefit from attending GLSEN PD workshops regardless of role; because, all educators can be supportive allies and have positive impacts on school climate. GLSEN uses the term "educator" to describe the following: Current or future K-12 Teachers, Administrators, Counselors, Paraprofessionals, Librarians, Nurses, Bus Drivers, District Staff, School Resource Officers, Cafeteria Workers and other adults working in schools.
GLSEN PD fees vary by location, size of group, length of workshop and other factors. Financial assistance may be available to qualifying schools, districts and organizations.
