Get Involved with GLSEN Pittsburgh

Thank you for your interest in GLSEN Pittsburgh. We’re glad you’d like to join us in our on-going efforts to make schools safe for all students, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you interested in becoming involved in helping to make schools safe for LGBT students?

GLSEN Pittsburgh is putting together teams of skilled volunteers to help us work on next year’s initiatives to make a positive impact in the lives of LGBT students.  We will be forming teams to work on various projects, having many opportunities available including project and event planning, outreach, administration, communications, graphic arts and marketing/advertising. Please click this link for more information on our programs and initiatives for the coming year

College Graduate and Undergraduate Internship Opportunities

Are you looking for an internship opportunity that works to create change and make a strong impact in the community, as well as enables you to develop effective skills in your field of interest?

GLSEN Pittsburgh works to create safe school environments for K-12 and college students. We believe that a safe and welcoming school environment is essential for learning and healthy development, and that the uniqueness of each student must be valued. Research shows that young people are most likely to be bullied based on their perceived or actual sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. Therefore, our work emphasizes but extends beyond issues affecting LGBT students, demonstrating concern for the safety and well-being of all students.  Please click this link for more information on our student internships
