Letter From GLSEN Atlanta

At GLSEN, we want every student, in every school, to be valued and treated with respect, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. We believe that all students deserve a safe and affirming school environment where they can learn and grow.

Our chapter in Atlanta is now celebrating our one year anniversary and we have accomplished a lot in the short time.  We are supporting students at the Middle School, High School, and University Level and have been releasing the first weekly GSA curriculum ever produced.  You can find it on our website at

Also, we have partnered with Georgia Equality to create the Georgia LGBTQ Advisors and Students Summit (GLASS). This is a quarterly gathering of students and teachers from across the state to discuss how they can better support LGBTQ students and their allies at their school.  Our last meeting had over 35 attendees, and we are hoping to reach 50 at our next one coming up at the end of October.

We are very proud of the work we are doing and the differences we are making in the community.  As we move into our second year, we are looking to grow the number of GSAs, LGBT Students, and teachers we support across the state.

Please explore our website to find out more about our work here in Atlanta and to learn about how you can get involved in local and national events. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions that are not answered on this site. Thank you for you interest and we're looking forward to hearing from you.
