School Climate in Missouri

This report examines the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students in Missouri, using available data from GLSEN's 2013 National School Climate Survey.

Findings from the GLSEN 2013 National School Climate Survey demonstrate that Missouri schools were not safe for most lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) secondary school students. In addition, many LGBT students in Missouri did not have access to important school resources, such as having Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) or similar student clubs, and were not protected by comprehensive anti-bullying/harassment school policies.

About GLSEN's 2013 National School Climate Survey
GLSEN's biennial National School Climate Survey, first conducted by GLSEN in 1999, remains the only study to consistently document the school experiences of LGBT students nationwide.
