Boston Public Schools - ETTH

GLSEN Massachusetts is proud to partner with the Boston Public Schools Health and Wellness Department to support the Empowering Teens Through Health (ETTH) Program.  ETTH is funded through a Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Adolescent School Health (CDC-DASH) grant which addresses HIV/STD and Pregnancy Prevention; while creating a safe and supportive environment for youth at disproportionate risk including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) students.

GLSEN Massachusetts works to ensure that every student feels safe, valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Through the provision of technical assistance, GLSEN Massachusetts is focused on ensuring that K-12 education throughout the Commonwealth continues to advance on LGBTQ issues: becoming fully inclusive of transgender students; addressing the multiple challenges confronting LGBTQ students of color and adopting model policies and programs. We partner with and engage all education stakeholders, most particularly educators and students who experience our schools every day and are in the best position to help bring about change. Our team works on multiple levels to create safe and supportive K-12 environments, including school administration, faculty, staff and student-led GSAs or similar clubs.
