The Omaha Chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Educational Network (GLSEN Omaha) invites you to support our annual fundraiser Art+Equality, which will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014, 5 to 9 p.m. at the Gallery at Prouty Place. Gallery owner and artist John Prouty is our gracious host.

The 6th annual Art+Equality brings together local and regional artists and members of our community to enjoy an evening of art and supports more welcoming and safer schools for ALL students. Proceeds benefit the programs and services of GLSEN Omaha, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  GLSEN Omaha supports Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally students, educators and parents and provides professional development for future and current educators.

Last year, support from artists and patrons made it possible to provide more than 30 hours of training to current and future educators and support to 17 GSAs and more than 160 students.  We co-hosted the first ever statewide LGBTQ+ youth and young adult conference in Nebraska for students, educators and emerging leaders from across the state.  During the 2014-2015 school year, we will offer our first ever Safe Space summit for educators and more programs and services to students and educators in rural Nebraska.
