GLSEN Omaha Professional Development for Educators
Nothing compares to working with your colleagues to address the issues going on in your school. With more than 20 years of experience, GLSEN can help you ensure that your school provides a safe and affirming learning environment for all students, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
GLSEN Omaha Professional Development (PD) workshops help empower K-12 educators, school staff and pre-service teachers to improve school climate, support LGBT students, incorporate inclusive curriculum or implement a new anti-bullying or discrimination policy. All K-12 educators can benefit from attending GLSEN PD workshops regardless of role; because, all educators can be supportive allies and have positive impacts on school climate.
Focused on increasing the number of adult allies in our nation’s schools and rooted in research-based training methods and adult learning principles, GLSEN Professional Development (PD) workshops are integral to comprehensive approaches to ensuring safe and inclusive schools.
GLSEN PD fees vary by location, size of group, length of workshop and other factors. Financial assistance may be available to qualifying schools, districts and organizations. If you are interested in attending one of our quarterly trainings or want to inquire about us coordinating a training for your school email us at Omaha@chapters.glsen.org. Please note that training requests will be filled only if capacity permits.
