Walking Tour 2018
Please join us for our chapter's first major event of the academic year: LGBTQ+ Walking Tour of NYC! This tour will take place on Saturday, November 3, 11:30am-3:30pm (please note time change), and be led by our chapter's Treasurer, Vincent Contrucci.
This walking tour will engage participants in a journey through the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement in the 20th century. We will visit 18 locations and discuss over 20 organizations, events and individuals that made demonstrable change. We will also visit the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, Stonewall Bar, NYC LGBT Community Center, the NYC AIDS Memorial and many other locations. The tour departs from Grand Central Terminal in NYC. It will cover nearly three miles and take up to four hours to complete.
- $40 for adults (25+ years of age)
- $25 for those under 25 years of age
Included in the cost are entry fees and donations to the Leslie-Lohman Museum and NYC LGBT Community Center.
Not included in the cost is transportation to/from or in NYC (i.e. bus, subway cab, etc.) as well as miscellaneous personal expenses (i.e. food and souvenirs).
This tour will serve as both an educational event and a fundraiser for our chapter, so most of your registration proceeds will go to supporting GLSEN Connecticut's services, trainings, and programs!
