November 20 is the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance
This is a day to memorialize those whose lives were lost due to anti-transgender fear, bigotry and hatred. Around the world, communities have planned vigils to come together and remember those who have died in the past year. For more information about Transgender Day of Remembrance or to find an event near you, please visit the official website.
In addition to participating in official Transgender Day of Remembrance events, many students and educators find opportunities on this day to address the experiences of transgender and gender nonconforming students who often experience hostile school environments.
