Every Sunday from 3:00-5:30 pm at Mt. Auburn Presbyterian, 103 William Howard Taft Road, Cincinnati Ohio, 45219.
We are a safe and welcoming space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and their allies to gather. Each week we explore a topic of interest to high school-aged youth with an emphasis LGBTQ issues. Youth group also includes weekly social time and a quarterly social outing or activity. GLSEN Youth Group relies on a series of youth generated ground rules to keep our space supportive and positive. We participate in days of action sponsored by GLSEN national and provide opportunities and resources for group members to organize actions in their school community, such as Day of Silence and No Name Calling Week.
Youth Group meets every Sunday at Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church 103 William Howard Taft Rd. in the Geier room from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Iti s an informal setting and snacks are provided. We enter from the back of the building by the parking lot. Mt Auburn Presbyterian Church is conveniently located by UC's campus; adults dropping off youth at group can take advantage of many local cafes and shops while group is in session. Quarterly social outings (and infrequent other youth group meetings) are held off site. Though our meetings are held in a church, Youth Group has no religious affiliation. We thank Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church for generously sharing their space with us.
We participate in other events around Cincinnati, such as marching together in the Gay Pride parade and the Northside Fourth of July parade. We let youth know how to get involved with cool activities and events in the Greater Cincinnati area.
